Children's CHE Titles

Title: Children's CHE TOT II
Children’s CHE is community health evangelism with children. God is working with and through children to bring transformation to the lives of the children, and then they share what they have learned with their family, friends and community. This happens naturally—if children are excited about something, they spontaneously tell others. Children can be God’s agents, both in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, and training or showing others new health or practical skills. This manual, Children’s CHE TOT II, gives further training in community health evangelism with children, as a follow-up to Children’s CHE TOT I. There are two accompanying manuals: Children’s CHE TOT I, which introduces Children’s CHE, and Teaching Children’s CHE, which includes sample Children’s CHE lessons as well as sample Health Stories, Bible Storying, Discovery Bible Studies, Picture Pages and Picture Books for practice teaching. That manual also includes lessons on Teaching Children’s CHE and Children’s CHE in Schools. The first module includes a review of Children’s CHE, along with Progress Reports and interaction by the participants. The second module focuses on 1for50, which is a strategy to reach, disciple and empower every child, with dynamic training material. The third module focuses on the needs of children—physical, social, emotional and spiritual. The fourth module explores Children’s CHE in Schools. The final module examines Planning and Multiplication, and asks, “Where do we go from here?” The lesson plans in this manual can be used to equip trainers to lead Children’s CHE ministries. This training should be given a few months or a year after Children’s CHE TOT I, to give trainers some practical experience with Children’s CHE ministries before they receive further training.     Topic List

Title: Discovery Bible Studies With Children - Creation To Christ
Discovery Bible Study is exploring the Bible, learning for yourself what it says, how to apply it to your life, and then sharing what you learn with others. Through many participatory activities, children learn to read and retell the Bible stories, often using drama. They learn to highlight important words, so they understand the meaning of the passage. Then they explore: • What does this story teach us about God? • What does this story teach us about people? • How does this passage apply to our lives? • Who can I share this with? The manual is divided into two sections. The first section gives training for trainers on how to do Discovery Bible Study with children, and includes some resources common to many lessons, such as sign language, memory games, and review games. The second section provides Discovery Bible Study lessons to use with children, along with interactive activities such as actions, dramas, sign language, marking Bible passages, puzzles, and games. Each week before starting the Bible study, children also review what they learned the week before, tell how they applied it and how they shared the story, and then they pray for themselves and their neighbors. The lesson plans in this manual can be used to equip trainers to lead Discovery Bible Study with children, and to give them lessons and activities that provide an overview of the Bible from creation to Christ. Children will begin to grasp God’s plan of salvation, beginning at creation. They then can share these lessons and puzzles with their families and friends.     Topic List

Title: Teaching Children's CHE
This manual includes lessons about techniques for Children’s CHE training on health and social topics, as well as how to do health stories, Bible Storying, and Discovery Bible Studies with children, and how to use picture pages. Children’s CHE is being used widely in schools, so several lessons about Children’s CHE in schools are part of this manual - how to get started, choosing curriculum, and tools for evaluation that children and adults can use. Teaching Children’s CHE is divided into several sections: Teaching Children’s CHE Using Health Stories How to do Bible Storying with Children Discovery Bible Study with Children Using Picture Pages and Picture Books Learning to Facilitate a CHE Lesson Children’s CHE in Schools There are two additional manuals that accompany Teaching Children’s CHE—Children’s CHE Training of Trainers (TOT) I and II. Children’s CHE TOT I is an introduction to Children’s CHE, along with foundational lessons on the principles and practice of community health evangelism. Children’s CHE TOT II explores other areas of Children’s CHE.    Topic List

Title: Beyond the Sacred- Secular Divide
Scott Allen's book destroys the sacred-secular dualism that has crippled the church, and it shows how discipleship involves all of our lives, loves, and relationships. I pray this book gains a wide reading. Its message is desperately needed. -John Stonestreet, Summit Ministries & Breakpoint The Bible reveals God as the creator and lord of everything: "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it" (Psalm 24:1). Yet for many people, including many Christians, this comprehensive worldview has become obscured. A line divides personal faith from daily life, work, and recreation, and we are left feeling fragmented, disconnected, and without purpose. But God is at work today, leading a generation back to an undivided understanding of the kingdom of God and the earth. What lies beyond the sacred-secular divide? A fulfilling, integrated life that unites faith and action, the spiritual and the physical, Sundays and the rest of the week. God cares about every part, and we have the incredible opportunity to join him in his all-encompassing, redemptive plan for our world. What are we waiting for?
